Notting Hill Carnival

The Notting Hill Carnival has traditionally been a celebration of the culture of the long-established Caribbean community living in London. But as well as the costumes, floats and pageantry associated with it, it has over the last 25 years, also become Europe’s largest multi-cultural outdoor urban gathering; awash with positive energy and hedonism, turning this part of London into a gigantic open-air party-cum night-club.

Work from this long-term personal street photography project has been published widely and has earned Andy a finalist category award at the Brussels Street Photography Festival and he has given talks on Radio London on this work, as well as holding an exhibition on his photography of the Carnival at the Tabernacle Centre in 2024.
